Your Story: "Wisteria Whispers" is a reflection of the struggle we face due to the overwhelming flood of information in our modern world. For most, staying focused and present with what truly matters feels nearly impossible some days. Finding a way to quiet the mind is a challenge, with a relentless stream of distractions always present. At times, the sheer volume of noise makes you want to dial down the intensity of life. If only there was a mute button. This calming art piece encourages mindfulness and the pursuit of inner peace.

My Story: I’ve always been enchanted by wisteria trees and the way their flowers cascade like delicate waterfalls. The soft purple and lilac tones have a calming effect on my mind, and if I had space in my garden, I’d definitely plant a wisteria tree!

While painting "Wisteria Whispers," I initially envisioned her with blonde hair, but since I haven’t yet mastered the art of painting hair with watercolours, I decided to experiment with adding texture instead. This turned out to be an excellent creative decision, as it really made the image pop. I also decided to play with how I applied the gold leaf in this piece. Rather than using solid chunks, I opted for delicate, whimsical details that complement the softness of the wisteria. The combination of these elements created a piece that feels both ethereal and grounded, perfectly balancing out the message in this contemporary mixed media art.
