Portrait & Legacy Commissions

A portrait can show what someone looks like. I want to create something that holds a little more.

Through photography and mixed media, I create bespoke portrait artworks that explore the person behind the image - their identity, milestones, memories, relationships and the chapters of life worth celebrating or honouring.

This may be a portrait of you, someone you love, a family story, a significant birthday or anniversary, a personal transformation, or a meaningful gift intended to become part of a family's legacy.

From our first discovery conversation, I take the time to listen. We explore the story, the emotion, colours, symbolism and imagery that may become part of the work. If new photography is required, I create the portrait foundation before transforming it through my mixed media process.

Because these pieces are deeply personal and take time to create, I accept only a limited number each year.

Original Art for Your Space

Not every commission needs to begin with a portrait. Sometimes the starting point is the room itself.

I also create original mixed media artworks for private homes, interior designers, architects, workplaces, boutique accommodation, Airbnbs, hotels, hospitality venues and other commercial interiors.

We can begin with the practical details - the dimensions of the wall, the scale of the room, an existing palette or design direction - but I am equally interested in how you want the space to feel. Calm or energising. Bold or quiet. Layered, playful, atmospheric, elegant or unexpected.

Rather than creating something that simply “matches the sofa”, my aim is to create a work that belongs in the space while still standing confidently as a Hue original.

Single statement pieces, pairs, series and project-based commissions can be discussed. Pricing is tailored to the scale, complexity, materials and scope of the work.
