My Story: I’ve always been captivated by the symbolism of the mystical phoenix. Though I don’t have any tattoos, I once seriously considered getting one—a phoenix. For me, the phoenix embodies immense strength and courage. There was a time in my life when it would have been easy to remain in my comfort zone in a relationship, even though deep down, I knew it no longer served me and I deserved a better kind of love. So, I took a chance on myself, pushing through fears, doubts and other people's expectations and walked away. This decision changed the course of my future, for the better.

Red is such a powerful colour; it’s what I turn to when I need to feel confident. The bold reds in "Scarlet Rebirth" represents courage and resilience. As I began working on this piece, I fell completely in love with using gold leaf and knew I wanted to incorporate it heavily here. The combination of gold and red creates a rich, striking visual celebration of rebirth and renewal; that feeling you get when you close one chapter to move onto the next.
