While others might see you as unprepared or disengaged, you are actually a quiet achiever—always present but seldom heard. You value the tranquillity that comes from being involved without seeking the spotlight. This art piece reflects the strength in quiet observation and the beauty in waiting for the right moment to make an impact.

My Story: While crossing the Brisbane River on my way to visit a client, I caught a glimpse of a striking yellow-tailed black cockatoo. I was instantly awestruck by the beautifully contrasting colours of its feathers—deep black paired with that vivid yellow. This moment inspired me to create "Perfectly Perched," a piece that captures the regal presence of the bird as it sat high on its branch, content and observant, with no expectations.

The flower in this artwork represents the yellow blooms of the Banksia, a native Australian plant. While the bloom I painted isn’t as long or rigid as a typical Banksia flower, I softened its shape to complement the overall composition. The combination of black and yellow is often overlooked, but I wanted to celebrate this pairing in a way that highlights its elegance and beauty. The result is a bold art piece that captures the subtle power and grace of nature, paying homage to one of Australia’s iconic birds and making it a beautiful addition to home decor art.
